First of all, I would like to express my deep gratitude to all member countries of ARMFA for putting confidence on us to lead ARMFA for the coming two years. Please be assured that we will do our best to carry out this humble mission to deserve your trust. Our willingness to work together must be continued and developed but most of all must be concretised by actions so that we can meet our people's expectations in road infrastructures.

Our gaol is to widen ARMFA activities field and to enrich experiences and knowledge exchanges. In road financing and management in order to increase significantly the developpement of each country and of African continent in general.

Africa needs to be more inventive, more creative to figure out new approaches for developpement because our needs are more pressing than ever while our means are very limited. Road infrastructures are one of the fundamental bases of development and Road Funds are the means to realize sustainable sources of maintenance funding for roads in Africa. In fact, the availability of high quality road is nowadays recognized as a key factor for the development of Africa and beyond the construction of new roads, their maintenance is very important to our sustainable developpement.

To that end, we have our annual meeting to consolidate our assets and to go forward faster and farther. ARMFA serve as a framework reference to promote experience sharing among member countries and more over to strength ties between our institutions.

I would like to make an appeal to the goodwill and solidarity of all colleagues of road funds of Africa without which the role the Association will have nonsense.

I also count on the Association sisters for their support for ARMFA.
